A holiday on a river is one of the more unusual accommodation options in Victoria. ‘River Cruisers’ is the perfect couples retreat. Experience some adventure whilst relaxing on the famous Murray River. With all the comforts you might expect, these well-designed boats have a wall bed that converts to a day bed!
The cruisers are easy to drive and small enough to go where the big houseboats cannot venture.

We recently stayed in ‘Steam’ A beautifully restored steam train carriage with loads of funky features and oozing with charm. ‘Steam’ is located high up in the Otways township of Forrest.
5. Liptrap Loft – Near Wilson’s Promontory
Another fabulous accommodation in the ‘Dufflebird Portfolio’. Set on 5 acres within 30 minutes of the Wilsons Prom National Park entry, this unusual property has a handbuilt home, Japanese inspired bathhouse and complete privacy.
6. Forget Me Not Cottages, Warburton, Upper Yarra Valley

7. Sanctuary Park Cottages, Healesville

12. Cottage, Tram, Vintage Caravan 5 mins from Kyneton
Cozy cottage, 1950s caravan, and refurbished W-Class tram accommodation. The sleeping quarters, along with a campfire area and tiki bar, are set on an acre which backs onto the Lauriston nature reserve. Just 1 hour from Melbourne, 5 minutes from Kyneton and Malmsbury, 15 minutes from Daylesford and Trentham.

A personal favorite! Decadent, historic, divine. Set in the Dandenong Ranges very close to world-famous Cloudehill Gardens.

15. The Diggers Store – 1850s stable, Castlemaine
The Diggers Store, located in Castlemaine, offers a unique Goldfields experience in a converted 1850s stable, set behind an old gold-mining supplies store. What an amazing and fun place to stay. Mira Mira captured our attention and has left us wanting to go stay there over and over again. Words just don’t do this place justice.
