OUR FAMILY GET ABOUT

1. Name two of your favourite places in Australia?

  • 1. Cape york Queensland – we travelled to the tip of Australia in 2013 and it was the best adventure so far. The fishing was fantastic and the landscape was rugged and beautiful. Definitely a memorable trip and a must for anyone’s bucket list.
  • 2. Bay of Fire Tasmania – Tasmania is definitely our favourite state so far. The scenery is jaw dropping and everyone is so lovely. But if I have to pick one place I loved it has to be Bay of Fire (Binalong Bay). The aqua water with white sand and a backdrop of  burnt orange rocks…..absolutely breathtaking!

2. What is one of the best things about Australia?

  • There is a lot of amazing things about Australia from its beautiful clean beaches to fantastic laid back people. But the best thing about Australia is its multicultural diversity. There are so many different cultures living side by side in harmony. We accept everyone for who they are not where they are from. The Aussie spirit is truely unique!

WHERE’S SHARON?

1. Name two of your favourite places in Australia?

  • One is definitely my adopted home city of Melbourne. I can’t get enough of this city! I love the food, the energy and all the events – everything really!
  • The second is much harder – I love the beauty of my home state of Tasmania, but I am also a fan of hot places so love Port Douglas in Far North Queensland.
2. What is one of the best things about Australia?
  • There is so much variety in Australia – there’s the Outback, tropical rainforest, Great Barrier Reef, great cities, the list goes on. I also love the multicultural aspect – especially all the great food this leads to!

TRAVEL WITH BENDER

 1. Name two of your favourite places in Australia?

2. What is one of the best things about Australia?

  • Other than our family being there? Or that it’s home? The food  I miss lamb, I miss pavlova, I miss vanilla squares. But we travel with our vegemite, at least.

NEW LIFE ON THE ROAD

1. Name two of your favourite places in Australia?

  • 1. Our two favourite places in Australia are Theresa Creek Dam in Clermont – Queensland. We had the most amazing weekend camping there and met other great homeschooling families.
  • 2. The other favourite place {actually our most favourite place in Australia} is Lake Tabourie Free Camping Spot called Meroo National Park in New South Wales. It’s past the beautiful Ulladulla NSW and has access to Lake Tabourie as well as Lake Tabourie Beach.

2. What is one of the best things about Australia?

  • The best things about Australia is the country – from the beaches to the outback towns. You can be driving down the road and the landscape will change before your eyes. And meeting the people along the way – the locals who will share stories about the town, to the best place to get a coffee and a feed, to the hidden spots to visit that is not in any travelling books or maps. Discovering places that are off the beaten track, that there is the best thing about Australia.

  • Our Favorite Aussie Article is one where I wrote about the cost of living on the Road – I was interviewed by a radio station and unfortunately, some of the article was cut out so I wrote my thoughts in a blog post  – The Cost of Living On The Road

HAVE WHEELCHAIR, WILL TRAVEL

1. Name two of your favourite places in Australia?

  • Port Macquarie & Tasmania – Both have lots of family friendly and wheelchair accessible activities we enjoy.

2. What is one of the best things about Australia?

  • In Australia, we have stunning natural attractions including pristine beaches and beautiful bush walks. What we find extremely exciting is the approach by some areas to provide accessible and inclusive experiences making sure that everyone can have a great time despite any mobility restrictions.

 A HOLE IN MY SHOE

1. Name two of your favourite places in Australia?
  • Our two favourite places would have to include our beautiful hometown, Perth
and the place we have visited most which is Melbourne.

2. What is one of the best things about Australia?

  • I think one of the best things about Australia would be our climate. If we
are looking to chase the sun, we can pretty much do that at any time of the
year as it is almost always warm and sunny somewhere in the northern
    regions.

Nomad’er How Far

1. Name two of your favourite places in Australia:

  • We absolutely loved Fraser Island, as we lived on it for 2 months while we worked at a camp-site located towards to top of the 75-mile beach; it was an amazing place with so much wildlife and having no phone signal or internet made the experience actually quite relaxing.
  • We also urge people to visit Magnetic Island, as the place is full of wildlife and beautiful walking trails. If you want to see a koala in the wild, this will be your best bet!

2. What is one of the best things about Australia?

  • The most obvious thing, but it’s got to be the weather. So many Australians live a wholly-outdoor life, taking advantage of the sunshine and warm temperatures. I think it makes people here happier, healthier and helps them de-compress in a way I never felt I could living in a city in gloomy England!

Wicked Walkabout – Us!

1. Name two of your favourite places in Australia:

  • The first place that instantly comes to mind, is Mt Timbertop in the Victorian High Country. It’s such a pretty spot to hang a hammock, camp or just sit and enjoy.
  • Gibson’s Beach, along the Great Ocean Road. I just love going down the steps to this beach to see 2 of the famous 12 Apostles from sea level.

2. What is one of the best things about Australia?

  • Free BBQ’s almost everywhere you go! How awesome is that to be able to stop and cook a meal along the way when travelling? Along with the BBQ’s comes tables and loos (usually always anyway).
