Adventure Theme & Water Park
Geelong is not only the gateway to the Great Ocean Road, it is also home to Victoria’s biggest theme and water park.
24 rides and attractions are set amongst beautiful parkland with plenty of family-friendly picnic areas, bbq’s to use, shelters and grassy areas to set yourself up for a day of fun. BYO food or enjoy some great meal options onsite.
We recently visited the park and experienced the VIP Cabana option – private access to the lazy river ride and a blue wristband which allowed us to cruise the lazy river as many times as we wanted… bliss on an extremely hot day!
The cabana, with a balcony overlooking the lazy river ride, was perfect for eating lunch and regrouping after expending energy on the rides. A private fridge is included, so our drinks were chilled.
Family cabanas and sunbeds are available to hire as well, drop your towels and head for the rides!
The Adventure Park is not like any other theme park we have visited (beats Disneyland for me!), with a large central lake and more greenery than concrete, it is relaxing. There is always somewhere to sit and watch the action.
A major difference between this park and others we have spent time at was the relaxed atmosphere. The staff were super helpful, and we did not feel rushed or that we had to keep moving, not that we did slow down very much all day! Having so much green space between the rides was a relief and made the day a pleasure all around.
Water Park Rides
The newest addition to the family of rides is The Tornado! Victoria’s BIGGEST & LONGEST water slide. After climbing the 24-metre tower, up to four adventurers at a time can board their inflatable raft and plunge down 360-degree twists and turns before being launched into the funnel and beyond.
A tiny tots splash zone, as well as 9 other awesome fun water-themed rides, make for a full day of action. The Lazy River ride was one of our favourites, on a 42-degree day it was fabulous to float along and cool down.
Fairground Rides
11 other rides that do not involve getting wet can be experienced, including 3 for the tiny tots. A classical Ferris Wheel, Archery, Mini Golf, the ‘Wave Swinger’ and more complete what is an all year round fun place to be!
Our Conclusion
10/10 from the kids and parents on this occasion! Having such a great theme park so close to Melbourne and on the way to the Great Ocean Road is a bonus.
Are you looking for a brilliant day out with the family or friends? Head west from Melbourne and spend a day or more at our largest theme park!
